Story Here
Mirage police arrested a man on suspicion of endangerment when the gun he was carrying fired, launching a bullet into a store's ceiling early Thursday morning, officials said.
David Walter, a 30-year-old Surprise resident, entered the Walmart near 129th Avenue and West Thunderbird Road around 1 a.m. While in the store, witnesses told police he repeatedly fidgeted with a holstered semi-automatic pistol.
No injuries were reported, and Walter was arrested without incident, Peoples said.
At one point, a clerk working the electronics section told police that Walter took the gun out of its holster and then removed and replaced the gun's magazine. The woman feared she was about to be robbed and notified the store manager. Walter continued through the store, apparently with a video game he told the clerk he would pay for at the front registers, Peoples said.
Walter wound up near a register where he later told police he intended to purchase the game. He removed the gun from the holster again, causing the magazine to come loose and fall to the floor. Walter re-inserted the magazine and continued manipulating the gun when it fired, sending one round into the ceiling, Peoples said.
The identity of the gun's owner was unclear, but authorities were able to determine that the firearm had not been reported stolen.
Police arrested and booked Walter into Fourth Avenue Jail on six counts of endangerment and firing a weapon in city limits. He was later released because he was wearing one of these

The heck with Swine Flu, it's the stupidity epidemic that's got me worried. Funny how it most always involves Walmart, like moths to a flame.

On top of this guy unholstering inside a walmart, I have trouble with him even carrying if he is not familiar with his equipment. Seems like he was having difficulty with his gun (which he aparently didn't know how to fix) and possibly his carry set up if he had to keep fidgeting with it. :F1:

An idiot like that should have his license/gun revoked. Its irresponsible actions like the above that gets people killed, we have enough killings nowadays without people like that recklessly endangering not just one person but a store full of innocent folk.

If he done that infront of me I would have drawn my weapon on him. Who am I to know what his intentions are?? Really dumb.

Well now, THAT certainly makes us all look good.

At least he had his mall ninja black tee shirt on though. His actions tend to make me think he was fiddling with the gun to draw attention to himself. "Look at me, I've got my OWN gun, and even can draw it and change the maga [BANG]zine.... er.... sorrygottago...."
