Once again, I thank the member that talked about ARMSLIST ( he knows who he is ). It is a great site, kinda like "craigs" but for guns, and I had not heard of it. I sold a Colt Lawman in two days, and got my price. These forums and especially local forums are a great way of sharing knowledge. Glad I joined.

Not sure listing handguns located in Memphis in the Mississippi section makes any sense.

Can't do a FTF deal unless you are an FFL, and an FFL can buy from any state.

You can't sell FTF unless you both live in the same state. Big time ATF no no.

Yeah, I'm confused here. I thought anyone living within your state, you could do a FTF, private sale so long as the party was of age and all federal firearms rules were applied and everything was in the clear. Please update me on this if I'm wrong.

My point was that someone living in Memphis (even an FFL) cannot sell a handgun to someone living in Mississippi unless the Mississippi buyer has an FFL.

But an FFL can buy a handgun from ANY state.

So there is no reason for the web site to list Memphis handguns in the Mississippi section of their site.

I saw several Memphis handguns listed in the Mississippi section.

Can I buy a gun from a seller located in another state?

Rifle, shotgun: Yes, from an FFL only. No face-to-face non-FFL sales.

Handgun: Only if you have to have it shipped to an FFL in your state. No face-to-face non-FFL sales.

This is what I mean by sharing knowledge, isn't it great.
Maybe the guy was in Memphis when he made the post but lives in MS. It sounds like NRA_guy knows what he's talking about.
The reason I posted on armslist was to keep it local (in state).
