The old guy who owned Village Pawn in Ridgeland gave good deals if you were a vet. Nice guy to shoot the bull with, had a wry sense of humor. Not sure about the guy who bought him out but I need to stop in.

Van's has the largest selection of used guns in the Jackson area. They don't tend to be great prices though. You never know what you will find at a pawn shop. There are about six that I go be at least once a week. Is there anything in particular that you are looking for?

Try "Great Southern Firearms" in Pearl... Dealt with them for years, and have been quite satisfied!---New and used guns....They'll also do consignments.

you're not going to find any want you would call great deals at Van's
way overpriced on their stuff

Everyone knows Van's aint the cheapest...

But generally if I need something really really bad...There's a decent shot of finding it there....unless you need Berger VLD's

Best Selection of long guns and best reloading aisle in Central, MS...I know that aint saying a whole lot...but I think its still true

I aint never been too keen on Pawn shops...always feel like I need eyes in the back of my head when I'm in one....

may have to stop by BigDaddy's however...I'm all for supporting folks on this forum

great southerns prices tend to be more on par w/ the norm, with quite a few used guns....vans gun prices are always ridiculous, but as 'neck said they have the best selection w/o a doubt!

Great southern recently moved to right just across 80 from the driveway to Pearl High school if you havent been to their old or new location....the new location looks much shadier though

The NEW location is shadier?? Can't get much worse than the old one, unless you put DOUBLE bars on the windows. Does the new one still smell like a 10 year old ashtray?

Facilities aside, they're nice folks with fair prices (prices include tax). Found a bargain there a few months ago.

On Great Southern, If the new one is more shadier than the old POS store they had...I may never go back...Nice folks in there...They just market to a different client base is all...they focus more on trades

+1 on it smelling like a 10 year old ashtray....this is also one of the reasons I avoid the pawn shops

Haven't been in yet. I drove by one day a couple weeks ago killing some time in the am before a Dr's appointment, but it was before they opened for the day. Yeah the old place smelled pretty funky.

I've gone in there a couple times to get their smith to do a couple small things I didn't have the tools for, didn't want to buy the tools for or track down someone who did have the tools. Like my ar sling mount, $5 to install it in less time than it took me to look up a how to video and realize I didn't have what I needed, and for much cheaper than it wouldve cost me for the tools.

Don't know how he is with bigger jobs...but everything I've had him do or my bro has had done has only been $5 or $10, and it's been done right, and right there in front of us.

The new location by the way is next to like a1 tire or something...I recall a building when I was younger there something like "tire, pawn and gun"...which is always a good sign.

At Great Southern;

Bigger gunsmithing jobs are farmed our to Billy Tierce in Utica, MS...He picks up one day a week I think

Garys in westpoint is a great gun shop a little out of the way, buy friendly folks.

Just varies. I don't really pay attention to the prices on their used selection because I have horrible luck with anything used
