DeSoto Rifle & Pistol Club is proud to offer a very special, once in a lifetime experience for the serious student: A full 5-day 3-gun defensive course taught by the master instructors of the Gunsite Academy. You’ve probably heard of Gunsite Academy and their founder Lt. Colonel Jeff Cooper, who is widely known as the father of the Modern Technique of the Pistol. When you want the best of the best, you go to Gunsite. When you can’t go to Gunsite, we bring them to you for a very special one time visit to Mississippi. You will not want to miss out on this chance!

General Information:

  • Dates: September 13, 2013 – September 17, 2013 (Friday – Tuesday)
  • Length: 5 days – 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Cost: $1,750.00, $500.00 deposit due no later than 8/2/2013. Full $1,750.00 due no later than 8/30/2013.
  • Ammunition: 600 rounds handgun, 600 rounds carbine, 100 rounds 00 buckshot, 50 birdshot, 50 slug
  • Class size: 10 minimum, 20 maximum (this class will NOT run without at least 10 students)
  • Prerequisites: N/A
  • Restrictions: Open to all students, including non-members of DeSoto Rifle & Pistol Club. In accordance with ITAR regulations, only US Citizens are allowed to participate in DR&PC training courses.

Registration:

  • Please register and pay online at Eventbrite, our trusted event management and payment processor.
  • After registering, please download, complete, save and email this form to: gunsite @ desotogunrange . com You will NOT be able to take the course, and will risk forfeiture of your payment without sending in this form. Please do NOT send the form directly to Gunsite Academy (as indicated on the bottom of the form), DeSoto Rifle & Pistol Club will forward all forms as a group to Gunsite Academy.
  • You will need to provide your own firearms and ammunition, they will NOT be provided by DeSoto Rifle & Pistol Club or the Gunsite Academy for this special traveling event.
  • Full class fee is NOT refundable unless DeSoto Rifle & Pistol Club cancels the event.
    The class fee, less the $500.00 deposit, is refundable if the student cancels no later than 8/2/2013.
  • Full payment must be received no later than 8/30/2013. Failure to pay in full by this time may result in forfeiture of your spot in the class, and will result in forfeiture of your deposit. Please pay on time for this one in a lifetime training opportunity!

Course Information:

From the Gunsite Academy’s website: Many of you have asked for a class that combines the use of handgun, carbine and shotgun into one 5 day course. Well, we listened and here it is! This unique opportunity will combine all 3 weapon platforms into one of the best weeks of training you will ever have! Whether you are new to Gunsite doctrine or you are a returning client looking for the perfect refresher course, the Defensive 3 gun class is for you. This course covers 2 days of handgun, 2 days of carbine and 1 full day of shotgun training packed into 5 incredible days. We will cover marksmanship, manipulations, carry methods, safety, care and maintenance, combat mindset and much, much more! Don’t wait or you will miss out!

Equipment:

  • Operationally safe carbine rifle (REQUIRED).
  • Operationally safe shotgun (REQUIRED).
  • Operationally safe pistol in an appropriate self-defense caliber (REQUIRED).
  • Cleaning equipment for your firearms (REQUIRED).
  • At least 3 magazines for your rifle and pistol (REQUIRED).
  • Shooters blanket or similar ground cover item.
  • Appropriate clothing for a full day of outdoor shooting.
  • An appropriate bag to carry your firearms, magazines, cleaning items and other gear.

Bump! Not too much is left to register for this class and we still need more students.

Well that's a bummer sir. I love going to Gunsite and would have been interested but was unable to get the time off. Oh well, planning my next trip anyway.
