Thought it might be helpful to have members post the names of gunsmiths they have used and been pleased with throughout the state. Kinda a public service thingy. I'll start:

In NW Mississippi, I have used and continue to use Lee Thomas in Nesbit. His phone number is (662) 429-3701.

He has done the following for me: reliability job on a 1911 carry pistol; action smoothing and bluing job on a Marlin 1895 guide gun; Glock repair and new sights installation; installed new sights on a 1911; buttstock angle adjustment on new over/under; installed recoil can and grind to fit stock on a Tikka rifle and a Mossberg pump (yes, they help a LOT!!); trigger job on a Sig P220. All work has been top notch!

If you have a gunsmith that you've had a good experience with, please share!

Tim Thompson- Bills Custom Automatics. Shelby MS. www.billscustomautomatics.com (nice website check out the custom gun pics.)

Reliablity job on 2 1911's; installation of sights on 2 1911's; reblued, straightend bent barrell rib, put in larger safety button and replaced a broken ejector , drilled and installed scope rail for eotch scope on my much abused benellie SBE... i still cant believe the looks good as new gun i got back was the rust covered and banged up gun that i had brough him.

I highly recommend Tim his work is top notch and turn around is very resonable for the amount of work that he does.

He is also in the middle of a build on my Rem700 that should be finished near end of summer. He is putting Kreiger #7 1x10 twist in 300 winmag on the blueprinted action, it will be pillar &glassbedded in a Mcmillian HTG ADJ stock (2 more months before it arrives) a jewell trigger and borden custom bottom metal. all metal will be teflon coated. Nightforce rings and bases. For the short term it will be topped with my Luepold 6.5x20 but will be upgraded to the 5.5x22x56 nightforce as soon as possible.

I cant wait to see and shoot the finished product. pics will follow as soon as it is finished.

Gunsmith

I live in Petal. David Duckworth is the most respected gunsmith in the area. He has been in the business for many years. He has done all kinds of work for me. I would never consider taking my stuff to anyone else. He is a Vietnam vet and a great guy to talk to. He is listed in the book. You should call him. You will not be dissapointed

But do be in a hurry it sometimes takes a while to get your weapon back as Birdsong has a bunch of government contracts and well thats his bread and butter. from what swan told me once you put this on a sandblaster can not take it off.
