i was making some 300 win mags the other day and realized that all 3 reloading books had loads only for h4831sc and not h4831. can i use eather powder at the same loading? i heard i could so i started at minimuim load and worked my way up cheaking for signs of overloading. am i making a bad mistake? anyone have any loads using retumbo powder? im shooting 150 grain balistic tips. my books didnt have any for that powder eather

they are the same exact powder just one is SC(short cut) its ment to meter more precisly and fill the case better. 1gr of 4831 =1gr of 4831sc

You are correct...one is just cut shorter.

Ive loaded 70.5grs H4831sc and it shot the same group as loaded with H4831 that i worked up the load with in my 300wm.. Carry on..

all 3 of my books had diffent min and max loads for that round. Anyone have any info ?
