If $$$ is a factor, Handi rifle in that caliber would work fine for all deer gun seasons. My :2c: worth.

Get the limbsaver recoil pad for it. I got the 45/70 and it kicked like a baldheaded mule. I put the limbsaver on it and it helped alot. They are about $30.00. Hope this Helps.
