(Sorry if this is a dupe.)

Taurus is making a .22 semiauto now (made in the US as I understand): TX22.

It comes with a threaded barrel; holds 16 rounds.

It runs a little over $200.

I have been thinking about one but most of the reviews say that they have a really rough barrel bore and that it leads up fast and furiously.

But they say that it's fun to shoot, has a good grip and trigger, feeds all ammo well, and is reasonably accurate.

They say the front sight sucks.

Taurus says that the new ones have a smoother barrel bore, but some owners say it still is rough.

I have one. Ive shot the crap out of it for not having owned it that long. So far i dont have anything bad to say about it. Ive got around 1500 rounds through mine. Been very reliable especially considering its a rimfire semi auto. I shoot mostly cci blazer but i have run a 500 round brick of monarch .22 i bought at academy and it ran it just fine. I really havent inspected my barrel super closely to see any defects. It shoots pretty accurately. The trigger is very good. If im gonna nitpick it any its the mags can be a little tricky to load. THe little pull down tabs are kinda hard to grab. So much so that i dont even use them i just use the little speed loader they give you with the pistol. Only thing that some folks might say that sucks about the sights is that they are plastic, other than that they are adequate. Same set of sights comes on the G2C im pretty sure.

Are the sights replaceable?
