I dont I like the way it was handled but I am very strongly against it.cwink said:I wish they would at least brought it out to the floor for a vote...
If they would have handled the way they came out and supported these bills alittle better there wouldn't have been such a up roar about it.msredneck said:Regardless of any rule changes...we still have a lot of folks that refuse to harvest does...deer over population is getting to be a problem and too many hunters are not stepping up to the plate....it just aint "manly" to shoot a doe
Unfortunately by the time the gubermint imposes their will upon the situation it will already be a problem...

I got out of a club for that reason. I few of them in charge did not want to shoot does.msredneck said:Regardless of any rule changes...we still have a lot of folks that refuse to harvest does...deer over population is getting to be a problem and too many hunters are not stepping up to the plate....it just aint "manly" to shoot a doe

Shooter I know you weren't stirring the pot. and I have nothing against the crossbows. I am just glad that for once something went right and the politics didn't do what they thought was right and listened to the people.Shooter said:D, I wasn't trying to stir an already boiling pot but I see no difference between a compound and a crossbow. They both use mechanical advantage. I use a longbow and have used a recurve because that is what I was raised with and like to hunt with. I too, love the sound of a crossbow in the deer woods...as long he isn't within earshot of me.
The overpopulation can be handled differently. Too ofton our seasons are driven by emotion and not science. That is why we have people who still will not shoot does. I wish we had the number Wildlife Officers it would take to enforce a strict three doe before a buck limit. I would love to see Mississippi hunters unite behind the sport rather than behind their portion of it. It reminds me of people calling for assault weapon bans when the hunt with firearms that use the very same fireing mechanism.
All in all, the wildlife population suffers when we mix in politics. I hope they figure it out.
I agree with you on the different zoninge.martin said:just wanted to hit on a few points here
1. I was against the bill if anyone cares but heres why
. the problems is their is over population issues in some areas of the state their are farms in madison county where they are told by biologist that they have to kill 100-200 deer the way the season is now their not doing it so it makes since they need more time.
. but their are other parts of the state where people don't have that kind of population they don't need to shoot that many if anything they need to shoot less.
. with the idiots we have in the woods who don't feel they should abide by the law now whats gonna stop them from shooting more deer than their already 10-15 little dink they should be ashamed of themselves what we need is more game wardens out their to lock these retarded a$$ holes up
just had to point out the surgical F-ing ninga murder :rotflmao:e.martin said:2. I like compound bow hunting its surgical F-ing ninga murder up to 50yrds but I like the feel of a recurve in my hands for sure
