Hello!
A good friend of mine told me about this forum so I decide to come in. I`m from Germany, living at Isaar which is a little town near Hof in northern Bavaria. I`m Police Officer at the town of Hof, and work as a regular officer and gun and gun-law instructor. I do match shooting, both with handguns and airguns. Since my time at Munich where I worked during the Oktoberfest at the German-American squad there I collect US military uniforms and equipment.
Greetings from Germany
Uwe

:welcome:

My ancestors came from Germany before 1864.

I have an old .22 revolver given to me as a high school graduation present by my father in 1964.

It is an "Arminius" brand. They are still made in Germany I believe, but they are no longer imported into the US.

I need a small part, and I emailed what I think is the current manufacturer and received the following courteous reply:

Dear Mr. _______,

we refer to your e-mail of 18.07.2010.

The Hermann Weihrauch Revolver company is quite a young company. The revolver in question was not produced by us. So we cannot assist.

We hope for your understanding.

Best regards

Hermann Weihrauch Revolver GmbH
I appreciated the fact that they took the time to reply.

Welcome! My Grandfather recently died and was a veteran of WWII. He left me an amazing collection of photographs he took during the war. He also left me, amongst other things, a German Calvary Officer's sword; a Nazi flag; and several small uniform items (ribbons, medals, buttons, etc) from German uniforms. Perhaps I can send you some pictures for help with identification.

I'm a law enforcement officer here in the U.S. and welcome a brother cop from across the sea.
