I hunt some and I like shooting rifles and shotguns, but am most interested in pistols and self-defense. I own a Taurus PT92SS, Ruger LCP, and KelTec PF9. I'm currently looking for a compact 1911, probably a Rock River Armory Compact. I'm always agreeable to heading out to the woods or the range to pop a few caps!

I'm only vaguely aware of the pistol shooting sports. By nature I'm pretty competitive and wouldn't mind knowing more. I know Starkville has a pretty involved gun club, but I've never taken the time to get involved.

USPSA or Action Pistol if fun and you should check around to see if there is a shoot local to check out. I think we have a member or two from up that way that do shoot USPSA. check out the Competitive Shooting page under USPSA. I can tell you one thing about Action/USPSA shooting for sure and it is addictive. ask MSREDNECK if you don't believe me. Good Luck and I'm sorry your not a Glock owner yet. I almost did become a Glock owner recently. I fondled several over the weekend at the local sporting goods store. I had my eye on the G26, G27, and G30, especially the G30. I own 9mm and 380 and am thinking I want a 45. That changed yesterday when I shot a bud's Colt Commander. Wow. Now I want a 1911. Last night and today I've been obsessed with it! I have my eye on a Rock River Armory Compact that I think would be an excellent addition to my small collection.

As far as I can tell they're still doing a stomping business. Good reviews, lots of choices on Gunbroker.

I ended up getting a Glock G36 for an EDC. I'm planning properly for next Christmas, though!
