I've got a savage model 12 to which I've added a neat Boyd's laminate thumbhole stock. There is a problem in that the third cartridge in the magazine (on the right side) won't feed into the chamber. When I put the original plastic stock back on it feeds fine. I suppose the bottom of the stock is pressing on the magazine. I can't imagine why only the third cartridge won't feed, but that is the case. The only thing I can think of would be to inlet the stock out further to relieve pressure on the magazine (this is a blind magazine). Any ideas or suggestions as how to remove wood from the bottom of the stock would be appreciated.

I would use a rounded end carbide cutter, but thosee arent easily found. One of their rounded wood bits would do ok i gues, they just arent as easy to control to me since the cutting teeth are much larger.

I had a little bit with what looked like a coarse grinding stone on it. Took off about 1/16"; looks like its going to work. No problems with the stock last year. It must have shrunk around the screws or something??? Thanks for the helpful suggestions...
