Thinking about another 22. Think it's going to be a Henry. Anything I need to know before I make jump. Always liked lever guns since my first 30.30 which I still have

Just make sure that you have plenty of ammo. My Henry is fun to shoot. Can't go wrong with a Henry.

Do you have a .22mag? If not, you might consider the Henry in .22mag. They have several models starting at about $550 msrp.

    I already have a 22 mag and a 17hmr. Both in bolts

Since Henry ads say they "Preserved the Union", I've but little desire for one.

I've got a few long ago relatives that might have been "preserved" by a Henry then....something to think about. I never knew that about their ad.

Don't overlook the legendary Marlin Model 39 .22 lever action rifles!!!

    I have never heard that.

But haven't I seen those special edition Henry rifles commemorating Confederate generals and such?

Or was that some other brand?

ETA: I looked it up (probably no longer available in today's "rewrite history" climate):

I shot my Henry 22 lever last week, I like to fill it up with CCI 22 CB shorts, very quiet and a lot of fun, I also have a nice older Marlin mod 39 made in 1957 which is also a fun rifle, I like shooting them with my Ruger single-sixes.

They are nice little guns. They are smooth as silk, the action that is.

Academy had Henry 22 Lever actions on sale the week after Christmas for $268. I got the last one at the Lakeland (Flowood) store. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. The action is smooth as butter out of the box.

I recently bought my first grandchild a youth model Henry 22. I bought it before the child was born, not knowing if it was a boy or girl, but figured what ever it was gonna be, it needed a Henry 22. Turned out to be a boy!

Rusty, enjoy your new Henry. I've also given them consideration, but my budget won't allow at this time. Those are sweet looking rifles (if I weren't a Christian I'd be jealous)!
