Hey Guy Around Corinth with the Concealed Carry Badge. You know who you are. You were in walmart last night (april 1st). I know you probably think you look cool wearing that CCW badge and carrying your Keltec .380 in your nylon holster on your hip in the open, but it is my humble opinion that you look stupid.

Wouldn't having a concealed carry badge pretty much negate concealed carry?

And, why would you have a concealed carry badge and open carry? Seems like he should have had an open carry badge!

AND, if I was going to open carry, it would be a MAN gun! Something like full-size 1911 or .357. The Kel-Tec's are great guns for their intended purpose, but that purpose is not open carry!

Man, I never could understand that CCW badge. Why would you want to advertise you are carry a weapon. I don't even like the open carry, but that's just me. I don't like to draw attention to myself. :2c:

Are you POSITIVE it was a concealed carry badge? My repo guy that I use wears his Bounty Hunter (or whatever it says) badge around his neck and keeps an XD40 on his hip with 2 extra mags on the other side. He's from around Corinth.

When I see these dudes I just guess that they want the general public to "Think" they are a LEO and thus deserves their respect and admiration. HA! In reality they are only a "Wannabe"!
Usually these guys are not a forum member. If he was he would have known what the perception is for guys that wear one.

...you look stupid.
What a doofus.

I'm sure that more will be added.

I have never seen a good reason to wear one.

I couldnt be more certain. Here's the story.

My wife and I were in wally world and we were about to check out when i remember that I needed oil and a filter to change my oil in my truck. So we left the checkout area and were headed back to the automotive section. WHen all of a sudden I saw a gun on this guys hip, after I saw his pocket pistol strapped to his hip I saw he had a golden badge next to the pistol. I just kept walking, but I was thinking there is no way that guy is a cop. He was dressed slouchy with holes in his shirt and jeans. He MIGHT have taken a bath in the last 2 weeks. So i told my wife to hang on a second. I turned around and acted like I was looking at the tabloid magazines. And I got a REAL good look at his FAKE badge. It had the State of Mississippi Seal on it and the lettering said Concealed Weapon Permit. He didnt even notice how close I got to it. I could have taken his pocket pistol right out of his nylon airsoft holster. I almost puked.

I dont mean to be so critical I just cant stand that wannabe stuff.

I support open carry. I wish the law would be changed so the wording would be more clear and I wish more ppl would carry open, but not with golden CCW badges.

Yep, if you're gonna wear the badge, might as well open carry!

You know, if he would wear it on a necklace, it would make a great point of aim for a criminal. And, maybe while the BG was working on Mr. Badge Toter, that would buy me time to make and execute a plan to protect my family!

There are several members from Tishomingo County, two of them I know (one is a little shady, KilRoy, you know who you are). I imaagine if they were available, they would love to burn some powder with us. The next three Saturdays are shot for me, but I am off some during the week.

Your best weapon is your mind and best defense is surprise. Carrying in that fashion to me is like keeping on running your mouth about what your gonna do and getting your butt whooped. And there is always one in the crowd who wants to make a remark about somethin'. I've seen that ridiculous badge on several websites and magazines..."but why". Is he gonna get a wallet for it next. You can order 'em online but jeez..Quit embarassing the rest of us and helping the anti-gunners in their quest for stupidity.

Me and some friends were eaing in Ruby Tuesday in Pearl back in August. We were walking to our table and i noticed a holster on this guys hip so i kinda glanced at it, Sigma in a cheesy lookin nylon holster. HAHA

I just kinda lauged for a second, my Subcompact was hiding just fine under my shirt.

I think open carry sends mixed signals...

Hey, i have a gun, dont mess with me.
Hey, i have a gun, come sneak up behind me and get it.

I like the element of suprise. Who is gonna suspect a young white guy dressed up to have a gun?
