I'm Daniel and a brand-new gun owner (most people get hammered for their 21st, I bought a gun). I'm currently finishing my bachelors degree, so I don't have much time for my new-found hobby. Some other things I'm involved with are mountain biking and music.

I've played piano for 12 years; most of what I play now is praise and worship, inde-rock, and a little jazz. I can read music like a champ, but I can't play by ear to save my life, so that's the area I'm working on most now with the jazz and praise and worship. For anyone wondering, my screen name is something I thought up 5 or 6 years ago to reference my favorite song (Billy Joel's Piano Man) and my favorite band (Relient K).

Cool...my wife is a church pianist as well as being classically trained... I'm a trumpet player...also play a lot in church and jazz, bigband, horn-rock, shows, basically anything but classical - I play it, but prefer other...I'm still working on improvisation too....it never ends, gotta play more and more and more and more..... :2c:

I also play trumpet, I definitely know the feeling. I've taken a break for the summer and I'm dreading picking the horn back up to get back in shape for school. I've been taking lessons from one of the MSO players who's an adjunct at my school; he's not gonna be pleased with my lack of practice haha
