I rarely post things not directly related to gun repairs, gun maintenance, gunsmithing, etc... This is a rare exception. My wife’s and my flight from Dallas to Baltimore today was an honor flight. The remains of Marine First Lt. Justin Mills were returned to his family for burial, 78 years after he was killed on Betio Island in the Pacific, November, 1943. The Lieutenants remains were recently identified via DNA. He was, of course, escorted by a Marine Lieutenant during the flight and met by a Marine Honor Guard. Semper Fi and welcome home Sir.

Thanks for sharing it’s a bittersweet thing, but getting a hero home to his family after a long wait is always a good day.

There are days that I just want out of this social system. I hate how broken it has become and how little honor people have. Then I read about a man returning home after 78 years because a group of people made their life’s work out of returning heroes to their homes and loved ones. Fellas if you aren’t humbled or moved please check your heart and your priorities.
