Is this a forboding of their product and should I look at a different brand or just a bad apple out of the crate.

This is not representative of Hornady products. I use their presses, powder dispensers, dies, case lubes, ect.. I have read many reviews on all brands of digital scales and there will be negatives on all of them because of D.O.A. or dead soon after starting usie of the scales. Stuff happens during shipping and/or handling of these scales that shouldn't happen. "Bruno" throws the box to the rear of his delivery truck and "bam" the scales couldn't take the jarring and will be D.O.A.

Thanks SGM and Quigley, I'll send it back and if I get another bad one (they also sent bad batteries), I'll give up.

You need to post some pic's of that Sharps Elephant Gun (as John Wayne called it in True Grit). I'd like to see one with a 34" barrel. If I ever get rich, I'll buy an original one for myself.

Hornady has great CS. I had some 5.56 75gr TAP that was blowing primers. They replaced the ammo, and gave me extra for the trouble.

My press is older, its the discontinued projector. They have given me a handful of parts, totally free. I am not the original purchaser.
