With all the talk of # of guns how long have you been collecting? I mean honestly collecting. I started shooting as a kid, but did not start collecting until I was 24/25 yrs. old. So that would put me in the 10/11 yrs. group. I have managed to amass right at 2 per year average. Some years many, some years none. Depends on financial status.
If someone can make this a poll jump on it, I don't know how.

I too started about 25 yrs old...course I had a couple shotguns when I was a kid and teenager.

Got my 1st pistol about 28 yrs old...a Browning buckmark 22...it was a POS.

Anyway I'm almost 50 now....I have been a "member of the gun a month club" for about a year and a half now....

They are better "investments" than my 401K at the moment...

Shot my first real gun at age 5. My grandfather helped me shoot his 410. After that it was BB guns and pellet rifles until age 10. That was when I was introduces to squirrel hunting and I've never looked back. At one time I have had over 30 guns. Now down to only a dozen.

My Dad let me handle his Colt 1911, unloaded, to my heart's content from maybe age 7 on up. At 10, at my Grandparent's little farm, we went out back of the chickenhouse, he chambered one round, and I fired it! Can a 10-year old have an adrenalin rush? YOU BET!!

I begged for more; he said once was enough for the first time!

BTW, I still have that piece, it was made in 1914 or so, "Model of 1911 U S Army".
