I use the Tasco Target-Varmint 2.5x10X42mm scope. Good repeatable adjustments and a lifetime warranty. Available from Natchez Shooting Supply for $54. I have used this telescope on a .270. 5.56mm, .22 rf pistol and .177 air pistol. The pistols were fired in the tuck position.

I like this one:

Mueller APV Rifle Scope 4.5-14x 40mm Adjustable Objective APV Reticle Matte

I agree with the Mueller APV. Be careful using scopes designed for a centerfire rifle as the paralex will be set for 100 yards and not 50.

My general rule is to spend as much on the glass as I spend on the rifle. My go-to glass is Leupold. I have used Kahles, Swarovski and Ziess as well. On rimfires I have used a host of scopes from cheap Wally World Blister pack Tasco's up to some top of the line target scopes when I thought benchrest shooting would be easy. (Boy was I wrong about that!) On my $150 Remington 552 I have a Brounton that I got on sale from Natchez Shooter's Supply. My $50 Norinco ATD carries a Wally World blister pack Tasco. Both shoot minute of squirrel so I'm happy. My Kimber of Oregon model 82 has a Leupold that I sent back and had parralex adjusted to 50 yards. It shoots minute if squirrel head. That is my go-to squirrel rifle.

Match the glass to the job. Almost any modern scope will give rimfire field quality.

I like the Mueller...I also like the Nikon 4x rimfire scope...I've got a VX-1 that I sent back to Leupold and had the parallax adjusted down on that I like. Weaver makes a real nice 3-9x32 with adjustable objective that is not as bulky as the mueller...

If I had a custom 22, I would get a more expensive scope. I have a Marlin 39 AS with a Tasco 3x9x40 World Class and it is super accurate. I have a Marlin bolt action with a Simmons Master Series 3x9x40 and it is clear and super accurate. There are a bunch of quality scopes for under 100 bucks. But if you want to invest more, that is fine too.
