I love 1911's!!!!!!!!

I have never mentioned them because they look big, I like the glock 19 too and some of the S&W, Taurus autos too but i am wondering if a woman like me with small hands could handle the 1911 since its full sized?

I will need to try one out also but just asking.

Anyone got any 1911 pics?

I love silver. Who make the cheapest ones that are of a good quality??

Yes, you can handle it .. You seem to have the right frame of mind when it comes to guns and shooting ... you are not scared of guns or to shoot them ... that is always the first obstacle -- once done, everything after that is gravy to include 1911's.

I am sure that many will chime in on this one ... a lot of 1911 fans on here. For the money, many would recommend Rock Island Arsenal (RIA) as a good one for the casual shooter. I tend to agree.

oh no here we go..................
this place is filled with 1911 fans and they are good guns, but if you buy one, you'll want another just like buying a Glock or getting a tatoo. Once its in the blood, your addicted.
You need to be saving up your money for buying guns now.

1911s are excellent guns. How small are your hands? All full size guns have proved too big (rear of grip to front of trigger) to fit my wife's hand. She can shoot most in SA, but they don't fit her hand -- she needs some extra length on her trigger finger at least, and a little extra palm wouldn't hurt. Only thing to do is try one (but be careful, they are like flypaper--difficult to let go of!)

Gotta agree with The Captain here - the Rock Island Armory is a great entry level 1911, but I wouldn't overlook two others - the American Classic II and the Firestorm Deluxe. Great guns for the dollars and according to some, may be the best kept secret for affordable 1911's in this class. What does that mean at the end of the day? Simply this, they're going to get more expensive.

2nd, build in progress. Bead blasted stainless frame and polished Colt enhanced slide...complete with fingerprints I was too lazy to wipe off lol

Oh hell, here's a group shot of some on the "lazy susan" rack LOL, I'll do individual if ya wanna see em. couple of RIA Tacticals, couple of Norincos, a high standard, AMT Hardballer, Sistema Colt, ect. Yes, I'm a 1911 addict...and no I don't wanna be cured. ;) and I don't know why it's cutting some of the pics off either...I don't do pics well.

You can deffinately try mine out when you get over here! But Beware!!! Once you shoot it, you are addicted, as mentioned above. Youll probably find yourself throwing rocks at a glock after handling a REAL pistol!!! :rotflmao:

Its a kimber. James did that himself with chisel and a file. J/k He is pretty sharp with cad/cam, but he is greedy with his skills. :blol:
I can see him doing some work like that on a 1911, but why waste time and talent on a glock!!?? :rotflmao:
Cause if a man were to really trust his 1911 he would nut up and run it against a glock, but since glocks are so reliable you gotta make them sexy too. :blol:

Alright alright IM sorry enough 1911 bashing I have plenty of them.

Aye, the 1911 is a good weapon. I have shorter fingers and the single stack frame fits quite well in my hand. Women tend to like them for this same reason. Downside is only 8 rounds.

I have traded up to a springfield XD. Its grip frame is only slightly wider than my 1911. ...with 13 rounds. Try both and see which you like better. I can't recommend any other semiautos. Either of these will serve well. .45 all the way!
