I have the same pistol in the 1911PD model. It is 4.25 inch barrel but I shoot IDPA with it and love it. The only add on was extended slide release by Wilson Combat.
i too have a 1911 pd and love it as well. Mine came with ct lasergrips. gun has functioned great. Me personally i am still not a fan of 1911 w/ rails. I am liking front slide searations though.
