A couple of months back I bought a new Ruger flat top Blackhawk stainless in .44 Special, one of the all time classic revolver calibers. When I went into the gun room to find ammo to feed it with, I discovered that I had lots of brass but very little loaded ammo. So I fired a few rounds just to make sure it went bang and put it in the safe.

Now I've managed to put all my .44 Special brass in one spot and get it all cleaned and shiny, which means that eventually I need to load up some ammo for it.

Actually did not know they made one in .44Special .. I have the .44 Superblack Hawk in .44Mag -- shoot mostly .44Spec through it .. when I actually get around to shooting it.

They chambered the Blackhawk in .44 Special when they came out with the anniversary flattops. I had to have one. :p

Most of the moderate Special loads got fired in a 4" M29-2 .44 Magnum I have since sold. At one time I had a couple of Smiths in .44 Special, but neither was really what I wanted, so they went away as well. But I did want a single action, and I wanted a Ruger. I have a .357 Bicentennial Blackhawk stainless as well, and these two sort of complement each other.
