Steel City Sports Shooting Assn. in Hoover, AL have plans for a 1000 yard range. I’ll be headed over there 07/15 to shoot a 500 yard F-Class Match and will inquire about setting it up for IBS 1K competition.

I heard watching a 1K contest is about like watching paint dry....

man I just bought a new Rem 700 action....gonna build me a F-class capable 308....trying to figure out barrel makers, lengths , twist rates etc etc now. McMillian A4 stock,

Gonna get Thomas Bullock in Clinton to build it...He has makes some nice rifles

so Beladran I got 2 going right now...I must have lost my mind...

Trying to settle on rings and bases for NF 5.5 x 22 - 50 as well

You only live once..... :p

How much is he charging for the gunsmithing fee...and then surplus city takes a cut...I dont mean to take away his business because he is a good guy but I know someone that will build it for hundreds less.

you can google the results from the Yukon match and others fairly easy. It is good to see what the people are shooting and what powder they are using. Lots of Benchmark barrels out there. I don't know anything about them.
Also lots of wild cats. 6mmToad. WTF

The 6mm Toad is a 6.5-284 Lapua case shortened to approx. 1.400" I think and necked down to 6mm. My bubby Walt Day is shooting that one. A hell of a lot of work to make the cases. It will shoot! The was a write up about it in an issue of Precision Shooter last year.
The Favorite Barrel brand changes with the Match location. Benchmark is a big favorite at Yukon. Broughton & Krieger in NC 1K and Brux is making a showing in NC 600 yard.
