If you could build a dream rifle, what would it be?

Mine would be based on a Remington 40-x action, jewell trigger group set at 1.5 pounds, tactical knob on the bolt handle. This would be sitting in a McMillan A5 stock, with adjustable cheekpiece, textured grip surfaces, jet black. The barrel would be a Shilen Heavy Bull barrel, 416 stainless, 26 inches long. Chambered in match grade .308, 1in 9 twist. All steel surfaces would be matte teflon coated. Sitting on top of it would be a Nightforce 5.5-22 x 56 NXS scope NP-R1 reticle in Nightforce rings and one piece steel base. On the front of the stock would be a swivel stud for a sling, along with another stud with a Harris bipod attatched.

That would be my rifle. :gun:

For me it would be a simple build... Take an Accuracy International AWSM in 338LM topped off with a Leupold MK4 or Nightforce optic and I'll be grinning from ear to ear. :smile:

My dream rifle is a M40A3, wouldn't even have to build it, be already built and ready. Put a NightForce NXS F1 on top and a harris bipod then I would be set-up for some serious downrange fun.

my browning a-bolt stalker in 7mm08.. stainless barrel and composite stock.. maybe upgrade it to 7mag. but other than that it stays the same.

Im guessing you would buy a separate bolt for the 308?...

lol, of course, all barrels threaded 5/8x24tpi also. would be nice to have a ai bottom metal also and a few of those new 223ai mags based off the 308 version also

Speaking of a double 4 bore, Park ranger had a rigby when I was a kid, amazing gun. I have tried for years to figure out where it went no luck.

Dream Rifle

I've got mine. Remington 40x in .223, single shot model, with 2 oz. trigger. Prairie dog's worst nightmare!
