I fell in love with lever guns over sixty years ago. My first was J.C. Higgin's version of the Red Ryder BB gun. I take that back, it was my second. My first, was a plastic 1892 Winchester Mare's Leg like Steve McQueen wore in the TV series Wanted Dead or Alive. I think it was a Mattel product. It even came with a fancy quick draw holster like Steve had. Yes Virginia, I would love to have a real 1892 Winchester Mare's Leg in .44-40 but Santa ain't a millionaire.
I currently only have two lever guns, much to my chagrin, an ugly '94 Winchester .30-30 with the scintered metal receiver that is a good shooter and a new (Remington) made 1985 Guide Gun in .45-70. But at the top of my wish list is a Marlin 1894 in .44 Magnum and one in .45 Colt, preferably both in very good used condition with JM stamped on the barrel. I also would like to have a straight stock Marlin .30-30.
