I always try to check internet data against a good hard-copy loading manual or the data from the powder manufacturer's web site. However with the 6.8 SPC that's not always possible, so I've had to rely on data from the forums. I'll trust that data if it's from a forum sight where lots and lots of folks are saying they've used a load safely. I'm not talking two or three people, but at least 10 or more saying it's safe. I always back off at least 10% for the starting load. So far I've never blown myself up -- knock on wood.

I have used loads I have found on other forums -- however, ONLY after doing some crossing referencing with my reloading manuals or the published reloading data found on the powder manufacture's web sites ... If I can not find a comparable "published" load, I stay away ....

With all the reloading recipes out there would you trust loading data you find on the net? If you tried it how would you adjust it to make sure it was safe????
I've always felt comfortable with this site: http://www.stevespages.com/page8a.htm

He's been around a long time, and seems to be quite prudent. Nevertheless, I'd still start at least 10% below his maximum recommendations and work into it. Most of the time, that'd put you into his minimum load.
