This moron is...well, a moron. Stopping "open carry" will reduce crime? Does this moron know what "open carry" is? Watch the short video.

EDIT: Video removed from YouTube to protect the guilty. Here is a local news story:
Jackson mayor temporarily suspends open carry law during COVID-19

Open carry isn’t his problem. He should be asked if the folks committing these crimes are even allowed possession of a weapon.

A feel good meaningless act that doesn’t affect crime in any way whatsoever.

Let’s see... if I’m not mistaken all counties surrounding Jackson have open carry.
I wonder what he’s going to think now when gun related crime doesn’t go down in Jackson but possibly to the moon!

y,
I would love to see his statistics on how many innocent people were killed by lawful gun owners! What criminal in their right mind it going to open carry? They want to draw less attention to themselves. Heck I do not recommend open carry anyway but I support a persons right to do so. Walk softly and carry a big stick is the way I approach it.

I posted this before on another thread but...
Stop everyone coming into Jackson ask “ Do you have a gun ?” If yes then the officer should congratulate that person and allow them in, might ask them do they have plenty of ammo.
If no then here is a list of pistols we have you may pick from, you are not allowed into Jackson without it.
maybe in 2-3 years we can rebuild our capital and the low life be no longer a problem.

Mayor Baby Chok has been pontificating for months that violent crime in Jacktown is caused by Mississippi's "open carry" laws.

He is dumber than a box of rocks.

I thought it was a state law that you could open carry? How is he putting a stop to it without being in violation of state law?

Isn't that like the Judges saying you can't carry in a courthouse? Should not the AG slap this down?

That’s probably why the video was pulled.

YouTube says that it was removed "by the uploader," i.e. his staff.

I wonder if the AG called him and told him NO.

Perhaps someone is channeling leaders from a continent of one's ancestry.

In the video he quoted the state law that gave him the power to do so during the state of emergency that has been declared, but any other time he doesn't have the power.

Thats what I was wondering. But after Katrina's gun gathering I thought they had taken care of anyone being able to suspend your right during a so called emergency?

Don't think that passed, but I could be wrong.
