Gunny think you are mis-reading that, doesn't say he could be out in 6 months, from what I got was if he is ever paroled from his life sentence for the murder, he could only be held 6 month by the Feds for being here illegally if can't be deported back to El Salvador after his parole.

"So, should Morales-Caceres be freed from prison before his life sentence concludes and El Salvador refuses to welcome him back, it’s only six months until he’s free to haunt American neighborhoods once more."

He should have gotten a death sentence.

Back in the early 2000s, the Supreme Court ruled that foreign nationals cannot be indefinitely detained (ruling was six months). That means if the State Department cannot secure travel documents, criminal aliens will be released/unleashed onto the American public. The politicians and beauracrats will tell you they can do nothing, which is true in part. There are provisions in the Immigration and Nationality Act that gives the Secretary of State the authority to withhold visas if a country will not accept aliens that entered from their country (think Chinese, El Sals, etc, entering through Mexico). Unfortunately, no Sec. of State will enforce it and that is why there are bunches of criminal foreign nationals that are roaming the streets.
