Just a word of caution - unless there is some providence to show that it was a "bring back" -- they are EXTREMELY RARE!! -- do not even consider that in the purchase price. It is fairly easy to make a Garand correct just be swapping parts depending on the serial number range and some other criteria. Garand and M1 Carbine enthusiast do it every day ..... It is almost impossible to determine if a Garand is all "original" from the factory. Accordingly, collectors, etc., give little consideration to claims that a rifle is in its "original" state with some providence ...
