I have a Bushmaster Varminter Special 24" SS barrel, Harris bipod, Tasco 22 power scope. Have about $1,200 invested.
Went in looking for a shorter barrel in the same type of gun... But Found a Sig p238 i like, And a mossburg pump.
The Sig is new, Shotgun does not even look used. I was offered $900 with out the scope,
Would anybody else make the trade? Whats the resale value like on a Sig? Never had a sig only glocks.

I think you would be better off selling it outright if you can. What model Mossberg is it. If it's the 590 that would bring it closer than say a Model 88 or even a 500 series. The 590's retail higher and have heavier barrel than the others and would come with ghost ring sights. The Sig 238s retail around $550.00. Sigs generally hold their value well. The 238 is very popular right now so the values can be a little inflated

Mossberg 500's.. good luck selling that when you need some $$

Ive been trying to sell one and they always hand it back too me while making a bad catfish face because I don't want to give it away.
that really don't make sence because the mossy 500 is a good shotgun.

That it is. Works every time. Mine is the breacher model, with a normal stock.
I want to replace it with

Why the 238?? I would personally go with the 239. a little bigger gun a LOT bigger BANG! I dont see what all the fuss is over the 238. It had too many issues when it was first released.

The $900 is not a bad cash money price if you keep the scope. Depends on how you figure the $ money you have in it. Get the cash and then its easier to deal. Cold Hard Cash appeals to everyone whereas that Bushy may not. Dont let your emotions rush you. There are some great deals out there right now. YMMV

Thanks to every one for the reply's. Im still thinking on it,
I like the varminter And it could'nt get anymore accurate.
Gess i could go with the Rock river Ar with the 18" SS barrel i saw when i was there.
I just figured my wife might would actually shoot the Sig 380 And would'nt be scared to carry it. She's scared to shoot my G23.
Say's it has to much recoil. It's been hard to find a pistol she likes besides The pink walther pk22, But that isn't a great gun for self defense. She said she would take the 2tone Sig. So i figured i would get the Mossburg 500 for a home defense weapon along with the deal.
Can't talk her into the S&W Bodyguard 38spl.

Its a good idea putting the laser together in an afforable pkg but a real %$&#'ed design. The laser is cheap and not at all comfortable to activate. It just kinda sits up there and has a button all the way up on top. Especially Difficult in a high stress situation. Crimson Trace is pricey but hard to beat. Well worth the $. of course this is just my :2c:

Asking price for new sig p238 2tone is around $700 Mossburg 500 was $350
RUN AWAY from that. The 238 2tone goes for around $550 with night sights, and depending on the actual model of Mossberg 500 they go for $299-$359 new.
Not that the 238 isn't a good gun, but you are getting taken at that price.
Just my .02

I would keep the AR or trade it on a barrel length fitting you wants, and if you really want a pocket .380 get a Diamondback...
