This is the M1 Carbine I got from fugan601 last night. Inland with SN of 6719XX and with a Blue Sky barrel.

I think the mags are S. Korean, but appear to be quality mags. The barrel and action need a good cleaning, but the Carbine is in great shape. The trigger group is tight with the receiver and the rear sight is "tight". There are a few dings on the barrel crown..... but not too bad. Hey, the front sight post is cut square..... unlike my other Carbine.... :)

This gives me 3 M1 Carbines. A few more and I will be even with Captain..... :) I also have 3 Garands, but will never catch Captain in that department..... :)

Tomorrow I hope to get to the range for a test firing.

.. sorry to bust your bubble; but, you will come closer catching up with the Captain in the Garand department much sooner that you will in the Carbine department!!

Nah - the carbines starting overtaking the Garands a couple years back!! Started off wanting 1 of each manufacture and after that was done, it was time to start all over again ... Just could not resist the little buggers!!

Made it to the range today to test fire the Carbine. Ran a few patches with Hoppes down the bore and still saw something hiding there. A brush with Hoppes and a few more dry patches and it was gone.... I then lubed the bolt and was ready to make noise....

Firing LC-72 ammo the Carbine did not jam once in 80rds. Even the 30rds mag ran perfect with 25rds loaded. Because of the gusty winds I didn't even setup a target stand. Just shooting at stuff on the 50 & 100yds berms. I was shooting standing and fighting the winds so I was just trying to get the zero close. Had to move the back sight quite a bit to the left. Elevation was where it should be (which is GOOD). I am hoping it was the combo of me shooting standing and the winds because it seemed to me the Carbine was hitting a little irratic. There is a ding on the crown that BARELY touched the bore. If shooting paper from a rest puts hits all over, I will file that ding down.

Oh, and the trigger is a little heavy. It might not be a good Carbine for the Hi-Power Carbine matches, but will surely make a lot of noise without jamming..... :)

I remember buying a Winchester M1 Carbine from the DCM for $20. The bums did not send me a magazine for it. I had to buy one at a gun show for $.50.

Went to Romulus, NY to the Seneca Ordnance Depot and bought 800 round spam cans of LC 43 ammo in the clips and bandoleers for $24. The year was 1962. A good year, I was 22 years old.
