I have a quick question abouit these CMP kimbers if anyone here knows

I realize these were surplus military stock, were these made for the army by the original
Kimber out in Oregon when Warne owned the company or later by the new Kimber America in
Yonkders NY?

They are Greg Warne made guns from the original Kimber -- here is an interesting link about them --

Kimber of Oregon "iterations"

They are labelled "Kimber of Oregon." But I think there were several iterations of "Kimber of Oregon," weren't there?
As I understand it, yes there were several owners of the Oregon based original Kimber,
first Greg Warne until he fell on hard financial times, then the company passed to some
or one of his primary investors but was ultimately closed down and sold to the entity
that moved production, and some design changes on the .22s as well to the Yonkers NY
facility that also makes centerfires now and has sadly dropped the .22 from their line.

I thought Kimber still made .22's.
Sadly Kimber dropped all its .22LR rifles several years ago, I have downloaded copies
of its catalogs going back 4 years and the oldest I have shows them missing in action.

About the only high dollar .22s left in the market as far as bolt actions go are the ones
made by Cooper and perhaps Anschutz. I won't own a Cooper product though since he
shoved both feet in his mouth and supported Obama.
