Good morning,
Anyone got any feedback for 223 Lake city once fired brass? Any primer pocket trouble etc? I've found 2500 cases for a good price and was just curious, any feedback would be appreciatted.

For the most part, Lake City (LC) is good brass ... You may need to swage the primer pockets if it has crimped pockets - which some of it does from my experience. This can be a pain at times but once you do it you will not have to do it again. I have an Dillon swager that makes short work of it .. other use the RCBS case prep station ...

Maybe some others will chime in here on how they deal with the crimped primer pockets ..

I use the RCBS Trim Mate. Like Captain said...only have to do it once.

I use the Dillon 600 Swadger and works great.

Good brass..... and the Dillon Swagger is the best way to go. I prefer swagging to reaming.

All I use is lc once fired range pickups from hi tech ammo. They are dirty so clean em first then I resize/deprime. I then grab the primer pocket swags and move to the living room and comence to swatting while watching tv. That's my system.

The dillon super swage is very handy. Got mine on ebay at a very good price.
The replament parts are very $$$$$

If someone had an RCBS case prep center, we could get some .223 processed in a very efficient manner. It is what we call a reloading party. BYOB (brass, beverage, whatever floats your boat).
With help, I could prep 5-6k on a saturday afternoon.


Ive found non nato LC brass to be soft. The primer pockets get loose after 1-2 firings. I generally leave it on the ground after the 2nd fire.

I consider it a good day when I find lots of LC nato at the range.. The crimp is proof positive they were not reloads.

Good brass I use it all the time. If your on the coast holla at me I have a dillon swage and will be happy to let you come over and swage your pockets
