What do y'all know about this? I inherited a few hundred 308's and just finished depriming and sizing them. Some of them looked like this. I'm just wondering if it happened when they were fired or were they made like that.
I didn't even know there was such a thing. What would be the purpose of it?They were fired from guns with fluted chambers.
A Fluted chamber is a chamber that permits the leaking of gas around the cartridge during the removal. Fluted chambers are often seen in Delayed Blowback firearms.I didn't even know there was such a thing. What would be the purpose of it?
The H&K P7 squeeze cock pistol does the same thing - delayed blowback. And you might even find some 9mm cases with the same lines.
Or even some .22lr cases. Glock and Sig use fluted chambers on their rimfires. And you might even find some 9mm cases with the same lines.

Absolutely a 91The fluted chamber theoretically aids in extraction, it’s a pretty tell tale sign it was fired through probably an HK91.
