Hey, I'm Mormon! JK, I couldn't be, one wife is all I can handle. Maybe if I gave them all a good whippin' with a stick (I think the law says no bigger than your thumb) once a week I'd be ok. Their ideas on self sufficiency is great though.

Why do that only when you have more than one wife?

See. Why the comment to ignore the spiritual part. Why not just keep quite about it and let each person decide for themselves. People don't like being coerced away from spiritual things any more than others like being coerced towards them. Practice what you "preach".

All theology aside, mormons have a reputation for being very preparedness-conscious people.

Its interesting that they touch a little on finances. One of the key things that I've heard people talk about in the last couple years is becoming financially prepared for a problem, by paying off debt, living below your means, and generally behaving your wage. If you're not in debt to your eyeballs, when tough times do come, either on a personal level or larger, you're in a much better position to weather the storm.

awww come on now kowen.... :)

My main reason, believe it or not, is that down here in the bible belt, the majority baptists here may look at the title page and maybe get through the first few pages of doctrinal stuff then throw it in the trash because its put out by those godforsaken cultist mormons trying to convert you, and may deprive themselves of the gold nuggets of information below those first pages.

Besides, the first 15 pages will do absolutely nothing to help anyone's belly become filled or extend the lives of the reader by even one minute. I also didn't want people to think I was somehow admonishing them to consider the lds doctrine above any alternative mythology of their choice. :lol3:

Ironically, September is National Prepardness Month and I am being required to promote it at work.

Here is a link (funny it offers Chinese as the first language choice.)

LINK

Try the Get a Kit link.

Then the Make a Plan link.

Man does not live by bread alone.
Got to also have peanut butter.

PS: All of the Mormons I have ever known were good, hard working, conservative, right thinking, family oriented people.

I have no problem with them---even if their religion is a little weird. At least they HAVE a religion.

I second this. I have family that are mormon and I was brought up in that doctrine. The people are generally very honest and patriotic citizens. If TSHTF, I'd rather have mormon neighbors than any other.
