Or does the build up make it harder than it's worth? I'm a long way from making boolits but got a source and from what I been reading, you can't get too much lead.

Grab it ... the build-up will burn out when you melt it ... probably a little too soft for boolits but can mix with other stuff to make it suitable ...

Grab it Sid....My first melt was a big pile of lead pipe and scrap I'd gotten from a plumber friend.

Man if you can find a plumber who is renovating an old house you can get a nice load

Lead pipe is usually pure lead. YES, grab it if it is FREE are almost free.

Mixing 50/50 pure lead and linotype makes great bullets. You could save a little of that pure lead (after making ingots) to sell to the blackpowder shooters.
