Is .223 legal to deer hunt with? I have read that .22 caliber was not allowed, but someone told me that .223 was allowed. The .22 caliber referred to the rimfires.
If I remember right there is not a restriction on calibers on deer hunting...you can use anything you want to except on WMA where it is posted on legal calibers...
If you keep it under 100 yards everythings cool as the .223 has enough foot pounds. From what I hear if you keep it over 1000 you can make a clean kill with the right shot placement. The .223 loses that right after 100 yds.
