Legal Calibers in Mississippi

Is .223 legal to deer hunt with? I have read that .22 caliber was not allowed, but someone told me that .223 was allowed. The .22 caliber referred to the rimfires.

Not being ugly or anything....But why not use a proper centerfire weapon?...I don't get it ...the fascination with shooting large game (i'm gonna assume deer) with ultra small calibers like 22 LR.

Just because you can do it doesn't make it a wise practice
