My dad had one of the take down, saddle ring Marlin .22 that they made prior to the 39As. He would get teary eyed any time he talked about trading it off.bubbat said:I have a Marlin 30-30, had a Marlin Golden 39A .22 that I wish I had never traded off.
Mine does a great job. I wish I would have had the money to buy it when I was middle teens instead of my middle 40s.righttoown said:How does that Browning .22 lever action shoot? It's a good looking rifle.
I have never run anything but 158 swc 38 target rounds through mine. It is a great plinker with those. No noticeable recoil and not much retort. It hits where you are aiming. 38s are cheap to reload. It wouldn't be my first choice to deer hunt with, but if I caught an armadillo nosing around the yard...bensand26 said:i have a winchester 22 lever action..
how good is the 357 caliber lever? does it shoot 38 special?
and how are the ballistics of it?
