Well, I finally got my LNL AP up and running, but after about 300 rounds it started intermittently not fully indexing on the upstroke (ram going down). As I was trouble shooting it failed to index more consistently. I checked the shellplate, lube, dry lube, primer carriage and finally concluded the pawls were out of adjustment. After a couple of quick turns on the left pawl it started indexing correctly again. I'm new to reloading, but I've had a good bit of experience setting up machinery (table saws, jointers, drill presses etc.)

My question is how common is this? Am I on the right track or am I overlooking something? The manual says it comes properly calibrated and shouldn't have to be adjusted for some time. I'm thinking maybe it was setup within a hairline of the correct specs.

I had to adjust mine early on also, maybe after some use a little 'play' works into the system...who knows.

I had to adjust, using the instructions provided, and was up and going again fairly quickly, have not had to adjust since, probably a thousand rounds ago or so...

Nothing....I had the same problem to after about 500 rounds of .223, adjusted the left pawl and haven't had a problem since. I have had a couple of friends tell me that an accumulation of powder under the shell plate can cause improper indexing and also over tightening the shell plate bolt will cause an indexing problem. Good luck...

Same here. The pawls got out of adjustment on mine after about 2k rounds. You'd think they'd come loose all the time as loose as they feel...but they don't.

Powder under the plate or the plate being loose will cause it too.
