:thanks: I will get my "cut" from the dealers...................... :)

Yes, check with your local FFL buddy on ordering you these 2 great rifles.........

THEN.................. We can setup some 24" diameter or 18" square steel GONGS at your place (long range) and BURN SOME AMMO together............... NOTE: You need to supply the gongs and frames......... :)

J&G sales has M91/30 rifles that have VG+ to exc bores. I got lucky and got a rifle from SOG with an unfired barrel. It shoots great. I will do an adjustable trigger pull job on it and I might shoot it in a Vintage Military Rifle Match this year.

I actually prefer the Finn Moisin Nagant rifles. The M39 is hard to beat. Great triggers, barrels and bedding.

Are the Hex receivers the better one to have?
Would like to know that also -- also, why are they the better ones to have?

Call me a Phillistine, but if I ever buy one of these, the first money I'll spend on it will be getting a Limbsaver pad (and maybe a recoil can, too) installed. I hear these things kick like a rented mule! Anyone own one that they've put a good recoil pad on? If so, what was the improvement?

What most people do not know is, the USGI .30 m2 (.30-06) round has a 150gr bullet at 2600 fps. The 7.62x54r 147 gr bullet travels 2900 fps. I fired at a 1" piece of cold rolled plate with a SVT 40 Tokarev in 7.62x54r and it penetrated at 200 yards. It was hanging in a tree on a wire. SVT40 stands for Samozardinia Vintovka Tokareva 1940. or Semiautomatic Rifle Tokarev Model 1940. The Russian Moisin Rifles are all very powerful.

im 5'11" 160 lbs and i can shoot my m44 all day if im free shooting, but once i sit down at the range my arm wants to fall off. no recoil pads. for anyone interested in getting one, DO IT. they are around $100 and less and 440 rounds is $79.99. its cheap and fun. oh and yay history! the hex receiver and round receiver are the same in quality, its just the hex receiver is a little more rare and desired. sorry i never post but ive been a long time lurker.

The hexagonal receivers were made before 1936. The rifles are just as serviceable with a round receiver.

Ill tell you one thing I shot the one I bought from SOG about a year ago without a recoil pad. This is ofcourse the M44 Its all matching and still has folding bayonet and in excellent condition. Well anyway back to the story I shot the first shot and hit what I shot at 100 yards but my shoulder was stinging a little bit. Lets just say I only shot two rounds that day haha so I could still have the strength to shoot my 45-70 and 8mm mauser.

I bought one (91/38) for $50 with 75 rounds of ammo (corrosive). If I can make it to 'Necks anyone is welcome to shoot it after I shoot it first to make sure it is safe. If anyone has experience with one, holler at the shoot and I'd like to get someone to look it over. It shot well for the guy I bought it from (he had 10 fingers, I counted every time I could get a peak).
