You are asking the impossible without a "bunch" of additional information. Gunshow carbines range from $700 upwards depending on a lot of variables ...... I believe the days of the $500 CMP Carbines is gone!!

FYI: 11 different manufactures made the M1 Carbine during WWII. Some are sought out more than others. Inland and Winchester made the most and Rockola and Irwin Peterson made the fewest. Most every WWII carbine has been through an arsenal rebuild at least once ... some several times. It is VERY, VERY rare to find any carbine as is was the day it left the factory. During the arsenal rebuilds, most carbines were put back together using any manufactory’s parts that were close at hand - thus the term "mixmaster" is usually used.

Of course condition means everything!! Is the stock an original WWII or a post war replacement?

It would be very helpful to post some pictures of what you got along with who manufactured it and barrel manufacture and date.

Again, without a bunch more info, suggesting the worth of your carbine is almost impossible. Give us more info!

I will do so right now! I do know the following.

On the barrel- Blue Sky / Arlington, VA - is written.
671980- is written behind the 1st iron sight
US Carbine CAL. 30 m1- is writtennear the loading chamber

The fream of the gun is wood.

Dang! Blue Sky / Arlington VA is what collectors call an import mark. It's mandated by the Gun control act of '68 and it knocks off at least $10 a letter. There is a manufacturer's name hidden under the rear sight (first iron sight) and by your serial number it looks as if you have an Inland, which was a General Motors subsidiary. Too bad they weren't named "Chevrolet", haha.

For current prices see what the auction sites have posted as winning bids. Go to gunbroker.com, auctionarms.com, and gunsamerica.com.

Oh, the original rear sight was a simple flip up and down that was replaced by the ramped one that covers the manufacturer's name during overhaul so it's safe to say yours has been rebuilt. An import stamp means it was brought back in the US commercially (not through the DCM or CMP) and could have come from anywhere we sold them through military assistance. Korea is a prime candidate.

People have very high prices on these gun sites. How will I know how much to put mine up for? Im not up to make a killing I would just like to get rid of it. What would you suggest.
As PhillipM correctly stated - an imported M1 Carbine which does reduce its value to collectors considerably -- Does look to be an Inland manufactured carbine based on the serial number -- Inland made the most ..

Inland Manufacturing Division, G.M.C…… 2,632,097 43.0%
Winchester Repeating Arms Co……………. 828,059 13.5%
Underwood-Elliot-Fisher Co……………… 545,616 8.9%
Saginaw Steering Gear Div., G.M.C……….. 517,212 8.5%
National Postal Meter Co……………….. 413,017 6.8%
Quality Hardware & Machine Co…………… 359,666 5.9%
International Business Machines Corp (IBM).. 346,500 5.7%
Standard Products Co…………………… 247,160 4.0%
Rock-Ola Co…………………………… 228,500 3.7%
———
Total: 6,221,220

Also, it has been rebuilt due to the fact that is has the new features such as the adjustable rear site and bayonet lug. I usually do not give a worth estimate but it seems that is what you want -- In very good condition, I would pay no more than $500-$600 and that would depend on what other type parts may be found in the gun and if the stock is an original Inland properly marked. However, there are folks out there that would like to have a carbine and may pay more .... put it up on gunbroker and see what happens!!

I'm with Captain on this, probably $500 - $600. If it didn't have the import mark, probably $100 more. Don't know where you are, but someone on here will probably be willing to take a look at it. Be careful...Carbine collecting is a serious disease :p

If you build up enough posts here, you could sell it in the classified section. I'm sure that you will sell it quickly.
That's the way to go. Should get full-value, plus no shipping hassles.

...Another thing you can do on the classifieds is post a want to trade ad. You should be able to get a good rifle and optics for it.

When you responded to my National Ordnance M1 thread with "I've got one" I was trying to figure out what variation you had. Some of their early models had Winchester barrels and parts with original markings. That would have been enough for me. Now you're on the right track. Follow above information and you'll get it figured out. These guys will steer you down the right road...

You might want to make a complete list of the manufacturers of each component as well. For example:

Slide type (it could me anything from a type 1 to a type 6) and maker marking.

Trigger housing type and markings.

And so in...

Depending on what's in it sometimes an import (or non import for that matter) can be worth more selling individual parts or parts groups.

I'm at work and don't have my parts breakdownwith me but feel free to contact me if you need a hand.

It may only be worth 500-600 to the military collector guys with the import marks, but at shows or other sites I've seen them for going for 750 - 850, with the Blue Sky import, and people are buying them

As suggested above, list it here in the MSGO Classifieds... you'll fetch a good and fair price and I'll wager it will sell quickly. This too... well focused photos are your friend therein... :)
