When anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned. As a penalty for the sin they have committed, they must bring to the LORD a female lamb or goat from the flock as a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for them for their sin.

Why is it at times we feel so dry, like our inner spirit has shriveled up?
If you’re going through a period of spiritual dryness, when worship becomes something you must force or fake, it could be you are experiencing what certain mystics called “the dark night of the soul”—a period in which God removes the sense of his presence in the process of raising someone to a higher level of devotion. Or it could be much simpler than that. You could have unconfessed sin in your life.
The practical religion of the Hebrews made provision for confession, restitution and atonement in its sacrificial system. We’re not governed by the same laws. But we, too, have to do something about our sin in order to restore our connection with God.
Is there some unconfessed sin that is preventing you from enjoying God’s presence? Take time right now to bring that before God.
