Try it with what you have....BSA makes a scope with a Bullet drop compensator specifically designed for the 17 HMR...if that floats your boat...

I just have a Simmons 4x16x40 with AO on my Marlin 93 Bolt....aint shot that mutha in a long long time...

Mine has a 5 rd clip...and its hoakie

might be one of the reasons I don't shoot it more...

that and the fact that 17 HMR ammo costs about as much as centerfire ammo...and when I got a choice to shoot small vs BIG...I usually choose BIG

Got a 3x9 on my Marlin 17hmr ..

Should warn ya -- 17hmr is WAY too much for limb rats ... unless you make head shots, the rats are wasted!!

I wouldn't mess with a hawg with a 17 either altho I've seen it done.

Check out muellers. They nice. My marlin 17 shoots 5 shots in a dime at 80 yards with a 3-9x40 tasco. Love it but do want a better scope. I'm thinkin about a 6.5-20 or an 8-32 for it. :)
