I would like a few answers on what yall think about this I was planning on buying my old granddad a cheaper 22 for christmas that has an engraved stock for his company McDonald Land Surveying in Jackson and I was planning on getting the seal of his company engraved in the stock so he can hang it in his office above the fireplace I thought this would be a good present since he has a few pistols but no rifles so I would like to get some serious feedback from yall so I can have enough time to customize the rifle like I want it for him and get a guy I know to laser engrave the stock so any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Ya, but who is to say it won't stay in the family? You may end up passing it to your children. You never know. I understand tight money, but I would probably go overboard just because it would ber something special. Just make sure you post some pics, whatever you decide. :D

I'm refinishing a Marlin 22 right now.

I added a Walnut stock from Numrich's and am putting a 2007 Walking Liberty Silver dollar in the stock, (year of my son's birth), then I'm having his name put on the leather sling. top it off with a BSA sweet 22 scope.

I'm almost done. Going to be his first rifle.

That Just Gave me a great Idea I am a big coin collector so I might put a quarter with the year of his birth in it also I think it would be really really cool. That with the engraving should be right around my pricerange for him. What ill do is just get a plain ole quarter from his birth year and polish it so I dont have to put my really valuable uncirculated ones in there. Sounds like a plan to me. Thanks 4runner.

The stocks that Numrichs sells can be purchased with the cutout. It's about the size of a half dollar exactly.

I used a dremmel to enlarge the one on mine to the size of a silver dollar.
