I bought a truck from a buddy the other day. While I was there, he said, “I know you are into Marlins. Would you be interested in this Model 39 I am about to list?”

Well you know I was. Sweet little rifle. These are so much nicer than the Henrys. And he made me an irresistible package deal for it and the truck. I am in it for about what a well used Henry costs nowadays. Made around 1980.

Sorry!! You are just plain lucky Joe. Nice specimen.
I have one like it in my safe. Several squirrels have met their maker with it and ended up in the frying pan.

I’ve owned two other 39s through the years. A 42 and a 55. Both bad the barrels drilled and tapped for scopes. One was done at the factory, but that just really bugged me about them so i ended up selling both. This is a newer model but at least it is drilled and tapped in the “correct” location.
