Bought this pile of crap at a junk sale awhile back and it’s just been sitting in the ammoplant for the last year. I had a few hours to myself this morning so I tore it all apart in an attempt to refurbish it. Only instead of 12g........20.
I'm going to have to say, while it won’t look identical to how it was new......it should look something far better than this.

Powder coated the base and had to do the same to the carrier that houses the charge bar and bottles. Didn’t want to but the chrome was damn near destroyed.

On the park, this stuff is a bit temperamental on certain types of steel. Some stuff comes out black, some a steel grey. Really weird and hard to predict. The few guns I’ve finished in it don’t rust so it does it’s job, just hard to know what the outcome will be while using it. I think this will be the last time it’s used.

Weird.
Certainly has something to do with the type of material they’re made of,I just don’t know. Lol
Oh well.....least it won’t rust.

Those parts look great. When you get it back together it should look as good as new.

I refurbished one about a year and a half ago I got from Captain. It was in pretty bad shape but not quit like yours. Mines a dedicated 16 Gauge loader. Friend of mine that works at a body shop painted the base Federal 16 Gauge purple and it works great once I ditched the new style plastic crimp starter. I'm sure yours will turn out great.

I started to apply a wild color to this thing. Sorta put my mark on it. Figured I wouldn’t rock the boat too much lol
Bad enough the chrome had to go on that top section.

Huge improvement so far. I have to get a few new bolts and nuts tomorrow. Hopefully Tractor Supply will have some Grade8 in their bins waiting on me. Really want to get this thing together.

Well,I couldn’t stand it,robbed the charge bar and bottles off the 410 machine. Made some small adjustments but now it works 100%.

If I had it to do over again (under some rule of our country) I’d probably just bought a new one.........but I wouldn’t have had such an enjoyable project.
Total cost was about 265$ in this thing, with the original purchase/charge bar/bottles/die conversion/two qts of Rotella and 3 or 4hrs of my life.

Now to get in on a dove hunt so the girl and I can flaunt our wealth! 😂

The crimps on those 20ga shells look really good.

.
The first couple were low as the shot was set at 7/8 with a wad that’s “supposed” to be for 7/8oz of payload. I may or may not have “adjusted” for that lol
The powder charge is low so no big deal.

Over 250 in and there some wear on the powder coat. Guess it’s pretty normal considering the others I have are worn in the same areas.
