Since i cant copy and paste, read the small article.
Middle of the article it somewhat explains the "transsonic" disturbance that i have been thinking about was the reason the faster bullets grouped horrible in my rifles.

very good article...some of which we have been recommending to folks on here...the part about trying a bunch of different ammo.

Most everything I've shot in my Kimber is the Std velocity..yet I'm still taken back by how much the point of aim changes when I'm testing ammo's by shooting for group...

In my limited tested, I was quite amazed...there are huge differences between brands of ammo...

some of the Federals I shot were as much as 18 inches higher on the target....much more than I would have ever thought...

I tested WolF match, Elay Target, Federal Gold Metal Match, Federal Match, Winchester T22 and a few wolf match xtra's...before settling on Wolf ME

I heard about that theory a couple years ago and made the swap to supsonic ammo. It definatly made a believer out of me, they grouped so much better in my ruger 77/22v, and I stopped jacking my squirrels up so bad too!

For plinking and SHTF purposes, I stock bulk standard ammo.

For hunting & sighting in I use subsonic exclusively.
