There have been several discussions regarding the Mini-14; however, when I did my search I found most of them had be moved to the trash bin. I moved several back so you could read them ...
i had the factory select fire version, the AC556. Ran great, I mean great. Used Eagle 35 rd mags well. I kept a Ceiner .22 kit in mine most of the time.
I have had AR's jam...my AC ran superlatively...that said...I do still like AR's too... before I get jumped
as others have said, the AR is more accurate...but the mini will still hit what the round was designed for...
I have owned 2 Mini-14 rifles. I would never own another one. I have never seen a factory Mini-14 that would not walk groups when fired in rapid fire. Save your money and buy a Rock River AR-15-A2 national Match. You will see how accurate a 5.56x45mm can be.
I have one. Wouldn't recommend it for competition shooting but it gets the job done for it's designed purpose as a "ranch rifle." Accurate enough for plinking or varmints which is about all I would use a .223 for anyway.
I have one, and have no reason to get any other 223 rifle. It is reliable, accurate, and rugged. No scope or gadgets, just a simple throw in the truck and go rifle. Works for my lifestyle.
I had a Ranch Rifle but sold it a few years back, nothing wrong with it and was fun to shoot...just realized I shot my ARs more. Figured I might as well sell it to someone who would put it to good use.
