"Miss Kimber" likes it cold--range report

I hate cold weather, that's why I live in Mississippi. But I needed a trip to Magnolia to give my Kimber some exercise...especially since I've lightened up the trigger a considerable amount. It was supposed to be 48 this afternoon, they LIED. Maybe a tad over 40, but no wind. Shot 5 10-round strings at 100 yards with Wolf Match Extra. First string was a little fine tuning on the scope. Second wasn't too bad, the flier in upper right was from sighting in my Dad's old rifle earlier. But the third, well I should have stopped there! Number four opened up a bit, I had just run 10 rounds of bulk pack through her to measure the trigger pull, don't think she liked it. One more and I called it a day.

This was off the bench with a front rest and rear bag. Hope this translates well to prone on the 29th.

NICE shootin'........

I would score the targets as follows...

T2 - 98-4X
T3 - 100-6X
T4 - 96-4X
T5 - 93-2X

Interpolating 4 strings into 6 strings.... I get a 580-24X. That is a KICK-A$$ score.

Yeah, I was pretty pleased...but it ain't "prone"...so we'll see.

How much time between rounds/shots, enough time for some heat buildup? (blatant attempt to get some shootin' secrets, since it looks like you got that one figured out). Nice targets.

Maybe Shoe forgot the decimal point when typing "100 yards". Should have read "10.0 yards".

Looks like I'm setting myself for some humble pie. I do think the trigger helped. I was going for 2 #, ended up with 1.8. One thing's certain, when I suck (and I will) I can't blame the rifle.

Phillip, Cap't posted a long list of targets. Don't know which that one was. Did a search but didn't find it. You may have better luck.

Yes sir, that is looking good. I can't wait til the 29th. It's my first competition since 1996 and from the looks of that target it looks like I may need a little practice. Great Job!
